I am an  Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Alberta.

Previously, I was an Assistant and Associate Professor of Finance at HEC Montréal.

I have received my Ph.D. in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics. I was a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School and completed my undergraduate and master's degrees in economics at the University of Cape Town.

My research fields are empirical asset pricing and international finance. My interests relate to exchange rates, sovereign risk, hedge funds, and financial market frictions.

My research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Journal of Monetary Economics, and featured in Fortune and Le Monde.
